New Delhi: One of the leading B-schools in France, emlyon business school , which also has its campus in India, has broken into the world’s top 10 Masters in management with its “Grande Ecole Program” taught in English, as per the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2021 global rankings which were published on September 23.

The Grande Ecole program bagged the 10th position out of 148 management programs assessed in 30 different countries. The QS ranking is based on a reputed method and evaluating criteria such as employability, thought leadership and alumni careers. The global assessment panels consisted of 38,000 employers, 35,000 academics and 28,000 alumni.

Besides, the school’s International MBA (IMBA) program jumped 35 ranks in the QS Global MBA rankings and is now ranked 62nd worldwide and 25th in Europe. As for Indian students, the school is ranked ahead of ISB and most IIMs and offers a very good alternative for quality education and international exposure. The QS rankings, one of the mostly acclaimed rankings among students and professors, are a true international acknowledgement for the school, highlighting the performance of its programs and reinforcing the school’s attractiveness and its international outreach. The ranking also acknowledges its pedagogical model and its reputation among employers, providing alumni a strong employability on the international scene.

It confirms the continued strategy of quality and academic excellence of the school, accredited as an institution by the world’s best organizations over the past 20 years. emlyon business school was again reaccredited by AMBA in September for the maximum duration of 5 years, just like it was by AACSB and EFMD (EQUIS accreditation) in 2019, confirming the school’s place in the selective club of the 1% of the world’s business schools with the triple-crown accreditation.

The school includes a strong international dimension within its programs and research centers, but also in its overall development. With 6 campuses across three continents, Europe, Africa and Asia, (France, Morocco, India and China) and over 32,000 alumni worldwide, globalization constitutes one of the strategic axes of the school’s development.

In India, the school has partnered with Xavier University, Bhubaneswar for the first and only Indo-French business school and is also in charge of a High Performance Centre of Excellence in Sports Management in collaboration with Xavier, Odisha Government and KJS Ahluwalia Group.

“We are delighted to see that the school’s strategy and the resulting academic choices are today acclaimed by the community of Higher Education. This recognition reinforces our confidence in our objective to position emlyon business school among the best business schools in the world” responded Isabelle Huault, President of the Executive Board and Dean of emlyon business school.

On a similar note, India head for emlyon business school, Ashley Fernandes said, “The rankings speak volumes about the global academic excellence of the school. They are also a responsibility and an encouragement for us to work harder and keep providing global quality education in the years to come. I would particularly like to congratulate all the early makers from India who have made it to the Grand Ecole and iMBA programs this year. We would be happy to welcome many more Indian students in the coming years.”

Earlier in July, the iMBA program was officially awarded as a Master’s grade from the CEFDG, the monitoring educational authority in France. Obtaining the Master’s grade means that graduates will benefit from a qualification that is fully recognized at both a French and European level. That recognition ensures a high level of quality and also provides reassurance for those in the program, given that the International MBA is mainly designed for international participants looking to develop their careers in the world.

The strength of the iMBA program is, in fact, in its diversity of candidates in terms of nationality and industry. With the strengthening of Indo-French ties and an increasing presence of French companies in India, the school is now witnessing more admissions from India. Besides, the simple and hassle-free admission process and a focus on merit scholarships have also led to a rise in number of Indian students in the business school.
