Disrupted Class, Restaurant Burglary: Elmhurst Cops

ELMHURST, IL — In recent days, Elmhurst police responded to issues involving a disrupted middle school class, a skate park fight, a burglary at a restaurant and driving violations. Here is information from the latest police reports:

  • Yohana Bellani Mejia-Cano, 20, of Addison, was cited at 7 p.m. Monday at Industrial and Grand on charges of no valid driver’s license and improper lighting. He was released on bond.
  • Tania Fernandez-Tania, 19, of Addison, was cited shortly before 9 p.m. Monday at York and North on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released on bond.
  • Vitalino Galicia, 43, of Addison, was cited shortly after midnight Tuesday at York and Wood Glen on charges of no valid driver’s license and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
  • Candelaria S. Paxtor-Gramajo, 31, of Chicago, was cited about 4 p.m. Tuesday at North and Clinton on charges of no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She was released on bond.
  • James Humphries, 22, of Berkeley, was arrested at 9 p.m. Tuesday at South Bryan and Butterfield on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding. He was released on bond.
  • Paul Balice, 38, of Elmhurst, was cited about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving on the sidewalk. According to a police report, he was riding a dirt bike in Eldridge Park.
  • Rishabh D. Mistry, 20, was cited about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Butterfield on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. The suspect was released on bond.
  • Irvin Valdez, 23, of Melrose Park, was cited shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of marijuana by a driver, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. He was released on bond.
  • Treyvon Love, 26, of Elgin, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at North York and Crestview on a warrant and a charge of speeding. He was released on bond.
  • DeJanira Peoples, 25, of Mishawaka, Ind., was cited about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at East North and Interstate 290 on charges of driving with a suspended license and improper lighting. She was released on bond.
  • Maxwell Higgins, 25, of Westmont, was cited shortly after midnight Thursday at West St. Charles and Route 83 on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was released on bond.
