2. The 49ers defense has its way with the Jets and is the top unit the business fantasy-wise

Game: San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets (Sunday, 9/20, 1:00 pm EST)

The Super Bowl runner-ups are likely perturbed by their unforeseen loss to the Arizona Cardinals during Week 1. Few teams around the league are a more welcomed sight for recovery than the New York Jets. Guess what? The 49ers travel to New Jersey for a date with those very Jets on Sunday.

It should be stated: Jets signal-caller Sam Darnold is a developmental player and could pop off for a competent game on any given occasion. But it probably won’t happen against a team that showcases Nick Bosa and Arik Armistead. San Francisco’s duo of defensive ends is arguably the best in the world and figure to be setting the dinner table in preparation for the inconsistent Darnold.

San Francisco was the NFL’s 12th-best fantasy defense in Week 1, and that was vs. a Cardinals team outfitted with weaponry galore. The Jets have weaponry lite. Running back Le’Veon Bell will miss time due to injury, and the Jets pass-catchers are flat-out mediocre, at best.

Start the 49ers to effectuate gridiron terrorism vs. Darnold and the Jets. San Francisco’s defensive depth chart is too loaded to perform ho-hum at MetLife Stadium this week.
