The Tenth Street Place firm is celebrating its launch with free services for restaurants struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, CEO Shanette Khubiar-Meadows said.
The founder and president is Jaime Jimenez, who also is the lead investor for two restaurants on the same street. One is Stuart’s Pizza on 10th Street, which opened in May with just window service for now. The other is W. Stuart C. Steakhouse, launching after the pandemic eases.
The Stuart name on all three businesses is in honor of Jimenez’s great-grandfather, William Stuart Cunningham. He was an immigrant from Scotland who ended up in the cattle business in Baja California.
Stuart’s Business Consulting is at 1003 10th St., Suite B2, 209-408-2794.
Meet the consulting team
Khubiar-Meadows’ experience includes two food distribution companies, J&M Wholesale Meats and Imperio Foods, which Jimenez owned until selling them to Sysco Corp.
Other members of the consulting team:
Nora Hana, chief financial officer
James Madrid, human resources and legal advisor
Randy Wey, talent acquisition and leadership development advisor
Jeff Wilson, insurance and risk management advisor
Terria Givens, brand and marketing advisor
Angelica Avila, banking and financial planning advisor
Michael Goularte, restaurant and culinary advisor
David Ortega and Pauline Jimenez, client liaisons.
Steakhouse slowed by pandemic
The steakhouse will bring fine dining to the building at Tenth and I streets that had housed World Savings and then Wachovia Bank.
Jimenez had hoped to open by early this year. He said by email Wednesday that this won’t happen until all limits on dining are lifted.
“A safe environment is our top priority for our employees and customers for the future of the steakhouse,” he said.
The new consulting firm will help other eateries weather the economic storm with the no-cost services through October.
“We are offering restaurants free consultations during this difficult time in an effort of helping them identify opportunities to mitigate losses,” Khubiar-Meadows said.
