Rancho Cordova is launching a recovery grant program to provide support to businesses hit hard by the pandemic.The application process opened 9 a.m. Monday.The city said it wants to save dozens of small businesses who are struggling financially due to the novel coronavirus outbreak and the resulting public health orders.City officials are looking to focus on businesses that have no more than 25 full-time employees. Businesses earning less than $3 million in 2019 and are in good standing with the city qualify for the grant. Priority will be given to retail, restaurants without a drive-thru, breweries, wineries, fitness studios and salons.If selected, businesses could receive grants of up to $10,000.The application process will close at 5 p.m. Sept. 27. Those applying have to do so online here.Earlier this month, the city council approved $200,000 to help small businesses keep their doors open. City officials said businesses who qualify will be chosen randomly to receive the grant money next month.
